Gnardawgs is a grassroots, low barrier, mobile outreach organization that is dedicated to harm reduction and mutual aid in the New Orleans community. Additionally, we are in the process of opening a second branch in Western North Carolina and we could not be more excited to expand our efforts.

Our primary mission is harm reduction, fostering community, and offering assistance and vital resources to those who need it most. Our hope is that we may alleviate some of the challenges they may be experiencing.

To achieve these goals, we distribute supplies on a weekly basis and organize and host outreach distribution days each month. We are focused on serving the individuals who live in areas of greatest need, specifically members of our community who are unhoused. Typically this consists of: ready to eat food, dog food, clothing, socks, Naloxone, safer injection kits, clean works, safer smoking kits, safer snorting kits, fentanyl test strips, condoms, Plan B, pregnancy tests, menstrual hygiene products, toothbrushes, and soap.

Our dedicated team is composed entirely of peers, some of which are certified peer support specialists. Our volunteer staff has lived experience with either one, or, all of the following: substance use disorder, homelessness, and sex work. We believe this experience makes us an asset to those we serve. Our team aims to alleviate immediate challenges faced by People Who Use Drugs and assist them in achieving their goals. There are times that people will contact us searching for support in getting into detox and we provide transportation and immediate connection to resources so that they can receive treatment as soon as possible.
